The Evolution of Yummy Bites Bakery

Posted on Apr 10, 2024

Yummy Bites Bakery started small but has now become an integral part of festive celebrations. Hoi Yan established the Yummy Bites Bakery, equipped with basic baking tools and the vision to empower refugee and local women alike with valuable baking skills.

The project took root in April 2023, with five refugee ladies and three local women undergoing training from a seasoned baker, mastering the art of crafting cakes, cookies, and other delectable treats. Operating without a physical storefront, Yummy Bites Bakery relied on pre-order requests from ElShaddai Centre connections, social media exposure on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and word-of-mouth referrals from church networks. Hoi Yan and her team explored various marketing avenues, including potential collaborations with professional marketing firms to develop a dedicated website and leverage advanced marketing tools for broader outreach.

As Raya approaches, Yummy Bites Bakery offers irresistible treats that honour tradition while embracing innovation. To celebrate the occasion, Yummy Bites Bakery is offering a special promotion for everyone to enjoy all four cookie varieties for just RM80! This year's featured delights are Almond London (RM25 for 290g), Pineapple Tarts (RM25 for 290g), Sambal Popiah Kerepek (RM18 for 280g), and Snowball Cookies (RM18 for 240g).

Yummy Bites Bakery has not only flourished as a business but also served as a beacon of hope and opportunity for women seeking to enhance their skills and livelihoods. The bakery team remains steadfast in their mission to spread happiness, foster community, and create meaningful opportunities for all.
